Artwork Guide for Direct to Garment (DTG) Printing

The T-shirt Bakery uses the latest printing technology (direct to garment printing) to achieve a superior quality garment print. DTG printers are bigger versions of your desktop inkjet printer with specially formulated pigment inks for printing on to cotton material. The outcome is a high quality, vibrant coloured print that is extremely durable and long lasting.

We accept artwork via email or you can upload your artwork on our custom product pages. In order to achieve the best possible results we require your artwork to be prepared in a suitable high resolution format.

If you would like us to produce the artwork for you, we are happy to help. Contact us with your requirements today.

Preparing Artwork for White Garments

• For printing on to white garments, we only accept artwork in the following formats: Adobe Illustrator file (.AI), EPS, PDF, PSD, JPEG or TIFF at 300dpi with all fonts outlined. The artwork backgrounds must be white or transparant.

Preparing Artwork for Coloured/Dark Garments

• For Printing on to coloured/dark garments, artwork is required in the following formats: Adobe Illustrator file, EPS, TIFF or PSD with all fonts outlined. The artwork backgrounds must be transparant only.

These are the preferred formats so if artwork is provided correctly no artwork charges will need to be applied. We offer full advice and consultation, and provide graphic design services for £20 an hour. If you have business cards or letterheads produced for your company the chances are your printers will have the logo in this format. Artwork saved as a Microsoft Word document or as a PowerPoint presentation or even supplied on paper will have to be re-drawn so artwork charges may apply.
